Our Story

The Devil's Own started in 2016 in Salem, Oregon, with a simple goal: blending the best beard oil from natural ingredients, using only the finest essential oils for fragrance. Our founder has been hand making beard oil for years for his own use, testing different blends of base oils and essential oils. The Oregonian spirit of doing it yourself and sharing it with others is a foundational aspect of The Devil's Own, and that "DIY and Share" ethos goes into every one of our products. Our belief is that good things come to those who wait, but great things are achieved by those who get after it.

Our founder learned the art of blending essential oils nearly 20 years ago, in a small shop located in a coastal town on the Atlantic Ocean. The owner, an Indian woman by the name of Superna, taught him to blend essential oils for fragrance and aromatherapy purposes and how each oil and fragrance has character and gives character to skincare products.

Goals and Values

Our Mission: Create the best damn beard oils and balms possible. We use natural ingredients for all of our products, many of which are organic and locally-sourced when possible. Every bearded person, "from the pulpit to the mosh pit," should feel the pride we have in our product while using The Devil's Own.  

Ingredients: Our products are made for you with safe, natural ingredients. Each product has an ingredients list in its description on our website. We use 100% pure essential oils, the majority of which are labeled organic by the USDA. Our founder puts the same exact oils and balms in his beard that are on our website. No gimmicks, no bullshit.

DIY: Our logos, labels, product photography, website design, pretty much everything is done in-house by a small, dedicated team of bearded dudes. 

Made to Order: In that same DIY spirit, all our beard oils and beard balms are hand-blended; each bottle's ingredients are mixed for and in that bottle. We don't mix up gallons of product and let it sit for weeks or months, and we blend in extremely small batches. By keeping a small stock of base ingredients and blending as we go along, we can guarantee the bottle of beard oil you get is just days young and brand new, not months-old back stock from a warehouse or storage unit.

All apparel (T-shirts, hoodies, etc) is printed by US-based production companies. We are serious about keeping things local, and low-impact.
